Bike routes along the Adda river
The Adda, whose path is 301 km long, ends its course by throwing itself into the Po. The cycle path, which runs parallel to the river, takes place within the Adda Nord Park, established in 1983, whose borders extend from Lecco in the north to Truccazzano in the south.
The only challenging stretches, which concern deviations, are those that require you to go up the shore (Paderno d’Adda and Trezzo d’Adda).
The designated departure and arrival points are the Calolziocorte and Cassano d’Adda railway stations, this allows you to reach the itinerary by train, then taking advantage of the FS bicycle transport service. (FS information: Tel. 147-888088).
The itinerary can be divided into two sections:
- The first, from Calolziocorte to Paderno , is particularly interesting for its naturalistic aspect; as the river and the vegetation are still well preserved. Industrialization has only partially affected this area even if there are interesting industrial archaeological sites linked to the presence of silk factories and spinning mills (Garlate, Olginate, Brivio).
- The second part of the itinerary, from Paderno to Cassano , however, is very interesting for the numerous works of industrial archeology; among these the numerous hydroelectric plants still used today for the production of electricity.
It should not be overlooked that the Adda was the border line between the Republic of Venice and the Duchy of Milan and that numerous castles and fortified houses have been built over the centuries.
Thermal Parks
The Bergamo spas offer numerous treatment facilities where relaxation blends with the environment.
The Bergamo spa offer does not refer only to the establishments, which for years have relied on continuous studies to develop the most appropriate formulas for using the mineral resources to which they are lucky enough to be able to access.
The locations where the spas are located are also privileged sites by nature, where free time can be spent in the name of lightheartedness and fun, cultural insights and sports, organized visits to nearby centers and typical local products.
