Nestled
in the woods, Casa Clelia lies at the foot of Mount
Canto in the town of Sotto Il Monte (Bergamo).
What comes into view first is the manor house dating to the
1600s. Further on is the 11th century friaryand then the
farm area with kitchen garden, stalls and haylofts. It's
a fascinating complex which brings the splendor of a rural
past enchantingly back to life, thanks to a restoration process
making the most of centuries-old history. Casa Clelia cares
about the well-being of its guests, of both body and spirit.
This is why principles of bioecological architecture came
into play in renovating the buildings. A healthy environment
in harmony with the natural setting, recovery of the convent's
original style and use of eco-compatible materials. |

Just
beyond the reception hall, the Legnaia
room makes
an ideal setting for banquets and receptions.
The Camino
(fireplace) room and the cozy
little loft provide the
privacy necessary for a business lunch or for a romantic
candle-lit dinner.
In summer, a large arbor of wistaria
and jasmine entices
guests to eat in the cool outdoors amidst the rustlings
of nature.
